Breast lift and reduction
Raise, reshape or reduce the breasts
A lift raises and reshapes sagging breasts, while a reduction also removes tissue to make them smaller and lighter. Both are done under general anaesthesia, with a surgical bra for about 6 weeks and no lifting or strenuous exercise in that time. Allow time in Seoul for the surgeon to check the wounds before you fly.

- Augmentation. An implant placed behind the breast tissue or the chest muscle adds volume. The breast's position stays about the same.
- Lift. Excess skin is removed and the breast is reshaped so it sits higher and firmer. Volume stays about the same.
- Reduction. Breast tissue and skin are removed, so the breast is smaller and usually sits a little higher.

Good to know
- Plan about 14 days in Korea so the surgeon can check the wounds and remove stitches before you fly.
- Wear the surgical bra day and night for about 6 weeks, or as long as the clinic advises.
- No heavy lifting or strenuous exercise for about 6 weeks.
- Scars fade over 12–18 months, and breastfeeding may be affected after a reduction; discuss this if you plan more children.
Questions
Lift or reduction?
A lift reshapes and raises without making the breasts much smaller; a reduction removes tissue as well. The surgeon decides at consultation after examining you.
When can I fly home?
The NHS advises not flying for 5–7 days after breast surgery. The surgeon confirms you are ready at a follow-up check.
Will there be scars?
Yes, around the areola and often down to the breast fold, sometimes along the fold as well. They stay red for some months and then fade, though healing differs between individuals.
Is the result permanent?
The breasts keep changing with age, weight and pregnancy, so some sagging can return over the years.
