Good to know
- Stop contact lenses 1–2 weeks before the pre-op examination, and longer for hard lenses.
- Do not rub your eyes for at least a week while the flap settles.
- No swimming or sauna for 2 weeks and no eye makeup for 1 week.
- Use the prescribed lubricating drops; dryness is common for several weeks.

Does it hurt?
Anesthetic drops are used and most people feel pressure rather than pain, with some stinging for a few hours afterwards.
